GAZMAN Materials

GAZMAN is committed to sourcing raw materials from ethical suppliers and responsible supply chains. Every step, from the farms that produce our fibres to the makers who craft our garments, are guided by our focus on quality and care for the environment.

Focus On Natural Fibre

Choosing the right fibres and raw materials is an important part of how we develop our ranges, and wherever possible we prioritise natural, more sustainable options.

Merino wool and cotton make up a significant portion of our seasonal fabric selection. We use them on their own or blended with other fibres to enhance durability and performance.

Merino Wool

Merino wool sits at the centre of our approach to quality and responsible sourcing. We use Australian Woolmark-certified fibres, giving us confidence that every garment meets strict standards for craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.

Merino is an exceptional natural fibre – renewable, biodegradable and inherently sustainable. It offers natural stretch, resists odour and creasing, and is simple to care for. Its breathability and ability to regulate temperature make it comfortable year-round, keeping you warm in cooler weather and cool when it’s hot. Soft, long-lasting and highly versatile, it brings comfort and performance to every piece.

As an Australian-owned business, we are committed to using Australian-grown Merino wool in our knitwear wherever possible.

Choosing Woolmark-certified Merino allows us to meet the expectations of our customers while supporting our wider sustainability goals.

Cotton

Cotton is one of the world's oldest and most trusted natural fibres, cultivated for over 7,000 years. Today, it remains the most widely used natural fibre, valued for its comfort, durability and timeless appeal.

Naturally soft, breathable and hypoallergenic, cotton is easy to care for and comfortable to wear year-round. Its versatility extends even further when blended with performance fibres, creating fabrics that balance everyday comfort with modern functionality.

As one of the most significant agricultural fibres in the world, cotton supports millions of livelihoods globally, from large-scale producers to small landholders. While its global trade presents challenges in transparency, our ongoing commitment is to work with partners who prioritise ethical practices and environmental care.

Linen

Linen is one of the world’s oldest known fibres, first cultivated and woven over 30,000 years ago. Renowned for its natural beauty and enduring strength, it remains a timeless choice for warm-weather dressing.

Naturally strong, breathable and quick-drying, Linen is also heat resistant with antibacterial and moisture-wicking properties.

The finest flax, from which linen is derived, is predominantly grown in France and Belgium. GAZMAN’s French linen is sourced from the renowned Normandy region, where growers operate under strict environmental standards and cooperative systems. All French Linen used in our program comes with verified country of origin and supporting documentation, ensuring full traceability from fibre to fabric.

Every piece is crafted from carefully selected long fibres, giving garments a smooth handfeel, natural drape, and enduring durability. Finished to maintain quality through repeated wear and washing, our linen retains its natural breathability and effortless comfort. As a renewable and biodegradable fibre, linen reflects GAZMAN’s commitment to responsible, sustainable material sourcing.
