This Autumn/Winter season, we have introduced a new guide to help you select the item that best suits your needs. In this blog, we will explain how to use our new scale that shows the fibre, fit, finish, warmth and stretch for each style, allowing you to determine the perfect fit and style for you this season. Fibre Fibre is spun into a yarn or processed into a textile to construct the fabric from which the item is made from. Fibre describes the thread in which the garment is made of, examples of this could be cotton, elastane or bamboo. Fit The fit of the garment will reflect how the piece of clothing should sit on you. Tailored fit and Regular fits are the most common across our shirts range. Regular fit allowing for more room through the body, while Tailored fit fitting closer to the body. Our pant and denim ranges are available in three cuts: regular, straight and modern. Read “The Right Fit For Your Body Type” to find out more on what styles suits you. Finish The finish explains the performance, look or hand feel of the item. For example, you can have a textured finish or a soft finish. The finish of a garment will highlight how the garment feels, looks or in some cases, treated for example our easy-care shirts. Warmth We have three levels of warmth, light warmth, medium warmth, and very warm: Light warmth – Cotton knitwear or light jackets, great for warm days, and cooler nights. Perfect for an extra layer over your t-shirt or shirt. Medium warmth – Wool blend knitwear or light jackets, great for cooler days layered over long sleeve tees or shirts Very warm – Wool or Merino knits, jackets with insulation: great for cold days and nights Stretch Stretch within a garment is determined by the level of elastane in the fibre resulting in the amount of ‘give’ (movement) in the fabric without impacting the overall appearance of the garment. Knitwear Our knitwear range has been developed to provide you with options all year long, ranging from our Hi flex cotton knit for that great trans-seasonal piece that can be layered over tees and shirts to our lambswool knits for those cooler days. The warmth scale will help guide you on layering. A light to medium knit on both weight and warmth scales makes for a great knit for layering over Autumn and Spring. Your heavyweight and warmer items are best for over the Winter months where you need more warmth from the cool weather. The stretch scale will help you determine both the fit and flexibility of the knit, a knit that is high on the stretch scale is great for layering over shirts while remaining a comfortable fit. Jeans Our range of men’s denim jeans are all about a great fit. Our Jeans are made from cotton-rich denims and have an added stretch for maximum comfort. Available in three cuts; regular, straight, and modern. The warmth scale will help guide you on where and when to wear the jean style for example our knit modern fit jean is uniquely made from a knit fabric so possess more warmth than a normal denim style.
